The Jackson Rangers Camp 1917 Civil War reenactors assembled on Bearwallow Mountain in western North Carolina to honor a long-ago fallen soldier. They reenacted a funeral procession with full military honors for the late Confederate Pvt. Julius B. Whitaker, CSA, who was killed in the line of duty at Terry's Gap in Henderson County on Jan. 9, 1865.
